Does mitsubishi make a 2.4L full alloy block?
I noticed that a 2.4L engine wasnt listed in the poll.
Powerplant: Chipped stock ECU, 2044cc, 8.5:1, head intake enlarged and polished, exhaust manifold enlarged,
Balance-shafts eliminated, Intercooled, TC06 @ 10psi, 2.5" high flow exhaust system and dump pipe.

Why isn't the mighty 253 holden isn't on the list :(

Seriously what is your budget? And do you want a manual or auto? Drag / track or street?

If I was to go V8 I'd choose an LS1 + 6 speed. Say $10K + $3K engineering and you'd have one brutal car to drive. Another $10K on mods and your in wheel spin city.

they are still heavy, compared to a 4 cylinder. By the time you dick around with a swap, you could probably pull more power out of a 4g63 or 4g64, or g54b, but hell just get an engine that sounds dead sexy, thats what I did :beer

i wish my 1uz made that much, its a sweet engine tho, it looooves to rev and i cant wait to bump the limiter up to 8k, at the moment it was happily bouncing off the 6.7k limiter on the skidpan.

i would do a 4g64 to be honest, to easy to fit in a starion.

If you have to go a v8 and you are happy with an auto, go the 1uz, they are very cheap (and it is the best auto in existance, cant even feel the gear changes)

btw i just found out the price to change over to a manual, $7,700 using all brand new parts, ouch.
