theres been a few sr20 conversions, one 13b conversion, the 2jz conversion, a few V8 conversions ummmm.,....and a whole myriad of mitsubishi conversions (the 2.6, DOHC g3 and the gto t/turbo setup).. So you have plenty of existing stuff to choose from.

Ultimate conversion

Post by NXTIME »

6G72 TT is my ultimate conversion into a Starion. Plenty of power with potential for plenty more. The Starion is overweight and needs the additional power.

I reacon a mitsu 2L V6 DOHC 24 valve MIVEC (dont know engine number) converted to TT would be great in a starion.
Even without TT 200hp @7500rpm (something like: 150KW & 400nm)
Powerplant: Chipped stock ECU, 2044cc, 8.5:1, head intake enlarged and polished, exhaust manifold enlarged,
Balance-shafts eliminated, Intercooled, TC06 @ 10psi, 2.5" high flow exhaust system and dump pipe.

The later model 2lt v6 HJ Galants/magnums had a TT version engine that made 160-200+kw std. I think it is the 6A12 series engine

RB26DETT...would be interested as to the logistics of getting one of these installed in the starion, they arent too tricky to be mated up to a supra box

There have been a few different versions of the VG30 series engines fitted into Starions. The VG30ET - single cam heads and single turbo from the Z31 300ZX; and the VG30DET - twin cam heads and single turbo. I know that Rocco's Performance in Mt Druitt did at least one of each years ago. The VG30DETT is the TT version from the Z32 300ZX. The mag you talk of is Hot4's in the "Crazy Conversions" section.

I'd love to see a staz with a VG30DETT, they hardly fit the 300ZX lettalone a car that has been designed to accomodate a 4 cyl SOHC.

If a G672TT can fit, the VG30DETT will. The trick is in the custom manifolds required to clear the strut towers and steering box.
