Hi all.
By now most of you know that I've bought Starion4me's, (Jason's) Widebody Staz.
This is just to show those of you who are interested, what's been happening with the car...
1. I've fixed this...
This was several decent cracks in the exhaust manifold, as well as a nice BIG hole.
2. I've replaced these...
With these...
Race seats just aren't the thing to get in and out of for daily driving, so they've found a new home in my JA.
The replacement seats were originally cracked and torn grey leather from a JA wreck that I had. I had them re-upholstered, and the headrest and backs dyed. The driver's seat has also been specifically remade so that you sit lower in it.
3. As this car will become a daily driver, some sound deadening was needed...
There was nothing to absorb the sound or reflect the heat here before, so I added some deadening, and mounted the stock JD/GSR-V heatshield on top to reduce noise and vibration.
There was also nothing against the firewall, so some deadening was required here too...
I may add some thicker stuff here still because it's still a bit too noisy.
4. The original rear muffler seen here...
wasn't really making the right noise, and upon removal, the cause was discovered...
So I replaced it with this...
Which sounds better, doesn't look like you're dragging around a water storage tank, and flows just as well.
The exhaust also had some movement underneath the car due to some of the mounts being broken, so that was corrected. It no longer scrapes on every speed bump encountered!
:)[
She goes bloody fast!
The car is a credit to Jason, and asides from a few little niggly things here and there, will be the ultimate Nissabishi by the time I'm finished with it! :)
lol, those taillights are off my parts car i believe!
i heard about what happened to it during transport.. really sad to hear about it.. but i'm sure you'll get it sorted soon enough.
congrats on the buy!!

don't try explaining that to her tho..... just leave. lol
say, since you are replacing the front seat to a reclineable one, will you (be able to) re-register it as a 4/5 seater or still remain as a 2 seater?

It was cracked when I first drove it in Sydney, but it got worse very quickly when I got it.
I suspect that it probably had a bump or 2 whilst in transit, and a couple of of drives was enough to turn it to shit.
It's fixed now anyway, so no more dramas from that at least...
GRRRR!
Exhaust turbo manifold has cracked again! In a different spot though this time!
I'm going to replace it, but I'll need to find something similar in style, but much better quality.
Apparently the current manifold is a 'Trust' brand one.
All I can say is it's garbage!
I don't think I've ever seen a thin wall stainless exh manifold NOT crack eventually. Doesn't matter what brand.
To me - thick wall or nothing - bugger the weight penalty.
