Where is the best place for me to fit my oil temp probe

remember no smart remarks!

Drill and tap the sump plug most jap kits , do it that way.

Yep, the oil temp sensor replaces the sump plug. But the thread may be different. So get a larger thread sensor and tap out the hole to suit.

not keen to use the sump plug as i recon after 30 000 km worth or servicing i will break the wire.

was thinking about welding a nut to the slump and tapping that?

It's just a plug with a spade terminal. Pull the wire off, remove the plug, change the oil.

yes if i could have got an eletronic sensor in the style i liked, since mine is a mechanical its a tube running to the guage and if that breaks......

Get one of these adapters, I am using one on my car, has been on there for about 4 years.

since the guage has oil temp written on the front i am pretty sure its not a oil pressure guage, i might be wrong but dont think so :)

Update both water and oil gauges fitted.

Under the oil filter there is a 10 odd mm alan key bolt. Buy an adapter for $8 that makes the senor fit. The same part will make the water temp senor fit in the bottom of the radiator.

No dilling, tapping or troubles!
