FOR Sale 1984 JA Mitsubishi Starion

Post by starion1984 »

As title says, i'm regrettably selling my pride and joy of the last 10 years due to my growing family.

I have all receipts, dyno's and paperwork from everything I've spent on this car. It owes me over 22,000$.

I'm being realistic and asking $2000 with rego until April.

Here is a list of mods to date.

-Engine (that used to be in the car)

- Balance shafts removed
- Full engine balancing
- Bored and honed
- Forged pistons
- O ring block
- Main stud kit
- Custom exhaust manifold
- Custom high volume sump
- Race ported head
- Heavy duty valve springs
- Custom stage 4 camshaft
- Head stud kit
- Copper head gasket

Engine Management:

- Microtech LTX-8
- Multi point injection conversion
- Custom intake plenum
- Larger throttle body
- MSD Coil
- Custom fuel system & Fuel Pump
- High flow fuel regulator and lines

Turbo and Intercooler:

- Garret GT2871R
- Custom intercooler
- Customer intercooler piping
- Blow off valve
- Custom Exhaust Manifold

Drive train and suspension:

- Lightened flywheel
- Extreme Heavy duty clutch
- Custom lowered hardened springs
- Custom hardened shock absorbers
- All Bushes replaced
- Slotted Rotors
- JD LSD 3.55 Diff
- Re-co'd Balanced Tailshaft

Other Modifications:

- Relocated power steering reservoir
- Dash mounted boost gauge
- 16” Wheels
- Re trimmed Front Seats
- JB Taillights
- Custom Side Skirts
- After market steering wheel
- Next to Immaculate Tan & Brown interior

Bonus parts kept as spares:

JA Front Bar (white)
JA Rear Bar (white)
Left Passenger Fender (white)
Left Hand Door (white)
TC06 Turbo & Manifold (polished)
Misc parts: steering pumps, reservoirs, Dash Covers, and heaps of other interior bits, etc.

All work was done by Beyond the Limit over the years.
Car has never been molested or abused.

It was in Melbourne's Auto Salon and Pictured in Fast Fours Starion Meet back in 06'.

Car is straight but due to weather does need a re-spray.

Another downside is that there is no engine in the car. I have all the parts (pistons, crank, rods etc) but no engine. I blew the head and was going to refresh the entire engine. I wanted to start again so the head was thrown as it had crack in it and the bottom end was thrown so we could start from scratch again.

This is a link to a page i made when i first got the car,

Here are latest pictures i have

Any Questions feel free to message me or call me on

0403021955.

Please no time wasters, as i know us starion owners aren't the richest bunch but what your getting outweighs the asking price.

Cheers,
Aaron.

Had a chat to Hugh (Mitsumadness) about it yesterday....
I have a vr4 piston bottom end with about 20,000km that can handle about 15-18lbs boost.
Can offer it cheap if you or Hugh decide to put it together to get car going! Shame to see it go with a chance to be a donor/parts car!

This was a beautiful car two or three years ago... Aaron, one question: wtf:?

I can't believe you let the paint go to shit...

Is there rust too?
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?
Click the website button below & watch the 3 minute video.

The car still is beautiful, i don't want to let it go but its just how its panned out...
There isn't rust, well no new rust, same rust that i've contained when i got the car. Like i said i've maintained the car since i owned it.

I didn't let the paint go to shit, it was just the natural digression of it.
I was a deatiler for 4 years i did the best i could to stop the oxi but lost the battle, the roof and bonnet need a cut, but they have been cut so many times it'll last 6 months and you'll have to constantly do it...

My bottom end is purrrr fect, its just the head that needs reco'in, not massive job i know but i can't justify spending more on a two door car that can't fit a pram in the boot any more...

oh my number is 0403029155 for those who said they couldn't get through.

Hi Aaron! Hugh here!
Yes, I am (and have been since Chris mentioned it to me recently) seriously considering if I can find a way to buy this - it would thoroughly suit my track/drift Starion plans, and also mean that roadworthy and such would not be an issue for me. Definitely a good price - only challenge for me is I'm trying to extend our workshop at home at the moment and have stuff piled up in the way until I have more storage space, so money's all going to that!

But I'm trying to see what I can do, and if I can figure something then I'll buy it! I have spare heads etc for in case I needed to rebuild one at some stage too, so that should be no issue.

Hey Mate, long time no hear..
Sounds fine by me, i'd hate to see her stripped but if she gets to stretch her legs on the track again i'd be happy to see that...

Yeh! I've been keeping an ear out about your car through Chris too. Heard about the head and saw it recently when it was in his workshop. Would be a perfect car for me to make into a track monster :D
I like the thought of it, cos yours was the first powerful Starion I got a ride in! It helped inspire me to keep going with them.

Will just see how I go though - if someone else gets to this before me, that's ok.

Cheers mate :beer

This is really sad. I remember seeing this car years ago and you kept it in really good nick then. Unfortunately this is the way things go naturally. It would be a great project for someone with a bit of time. If you don't sell it soon gimme a bell. Im sure i can move it for u.

You have a bub now yeah?

Yea the car was A1 with me, but yea i just can't justify building another engine for a car that is just not practical for me any more....

Shame..

Would be a good project if anyone wanted to take it on, but i'm again realistic as everyone on this forum are probably already up to their necks in their own cars...

Car is still waiting for a buyer so if your interested let me know champ.

Yeah, got a 2 year old and another on the way so its the natural progression of these things...
