ECI vacum hose configuration

Post by matstar1000 »

Does anyone have a diagram or is someone on the goldcoast that I can look at there car to see how all the vacum hoses are set up. Mine is a mess and the car is running pretty crap at cruise so I want to put all these how they should be to see if that help with the problem. The car misses after cruising for a while, it accelerates fine, I checked the intake pipe before the turbo and it looks ok.

David

If you've got a diagram, post it up so others (including myself) can check and make sure all is connected correctly too.

So does that mean that the vac line off the base of the thermostat housing goes to the wastegate actuator?

you see, its very tricksey. Thats my jap import 83 starion. It has 2 ports on the wastegate actuator, and when the car is cold, it adds boost from the vac line just under the thermostat housing and opens the wastegate earlier, only allowing 3-4psi of boost to build. It turns that off then its warmed up and lets it run the factory 7-8psi.

You can see there is a vac line directly fron the compressor cover to the wastegate actuator aswell.

That pic may not match up perfectly with aus starions :(

There are still 2 lines that that picture doesn't seem to show - The vac line coming off the inlet runner that is t'd so that one goes to the map sensor and the other one goes *somewhere*.. I thought it went to the wastegate, but that pic suggests that the boost sense is taken from the port on the compressor cover.

Please don't link to this... If you want to download it, then mirror, that's OK :) I'm on a slow modem. Not much bandwidth...

Thanks David. Is that page about deletion of vac lines part of a service update?

Yeah... Which explains a bit about the removal of the second line from the wastegate on some Starions... :)
