not true, cookie, you provided the impetus to get me going on it in the first place.
and helped demonstrate i wasnt going to get anywhere with the R33 calipers, and lent me an old booster so i could sort out the master cylinder aspect. it all helps!

By the way, wasn't there some issue with the Wilwood calipers being not road legal since they don't have dust covers?

Also, how much does the upgrade change the standard offset (if any). I'd love to do this conversion, but don't want to use spacers. Obviously if it changes the offset to something more common it increases the number of wheel options :)

Any brake conversion would require an engineer's signature. Speak to one first before buying any parts.

The offset remains the same.

how much did the calipers themselves set you back?

i'd be assuming it'd be cheaper to buy from the states does anyone have a source we can look at?

I know i can't afford it right now but this'd be an excellent idea in future as engineering wouldn't be a great hastle.

Also does this mean we caqn't legally remove the dust covers from bhind our existing starion discs?

I may have missed it but you don't specify the thickness of the backing plate.

Good work all round.

HCCA - my engineer said nay to the willwoods for the dust cap issue. I'd suggest all engineers have different opinions.

This is the caliper Merlin is using:

Your looking at around $500 for a pair landed at your door. This varies depending on the exchange rate. Don't forget you'll need to add brake pads and brake lines on top of that.

EBC greenstuff pads cost $85 from Warringah Brake & Clutch.
The caliper plate is 12mm thich, as shown on the drawing.

In regards to brake lines, are there any off the shelf braided items (race spec with rubbber collars) i was reading an old zoom and thought since i gotta replace my hoses i might as well do it properly for later.
