No formatting makes baby jesus cry.
I'm with you on money spent on cars though. I have easily spent over 20k combined on my starions that I have had thus far and the latest one isn't finished yet (not by a long shot) so there is more more more money to come.

It doesn't bear thinking about.
I weigh up how much I have spent & lost compared to how much I enjoy the experience of both modifying and driving.
I think I lost $8-10K on my old JB, but I did get 2-3 yrs of reliable transport out of it + a swag of fun. Do the same in ANY new car and you will lose more.

JA - had for 5 years, extent of work done: new rings and basic head rebuild cost about $250, had turbo recon'd at same time, replaced power steering interpreter and radiator core about another $250 all up. recently installed new KYB shocks and kingsprings.
Other money spent on non nessicary bits like bov, boost control, rsm etc.

my orange car owes me about 18 grand, did everything myself other than paint (5 grand) awesome car, absolutely sweet.
my JB is probably gonna owe me about 20 by the time i`m finished with it. but u see i cant leave anything stock!
hell yeah they`re worth it. as anthony said, its all about getting the rewards for your hard earned cash. u could spend the same money doing up a commodore, then look at the finished article sitting on the side of the road and think "shit, there goes another vb vc vk vl or whatever that looks exactly the same as mine!"
that wont happen with a starion! rofl
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.
