I think you will find the mazda fe3 motor is an east-west motor and not suited to a RWD application..?

A few guys in the u.s. have FE3 powered miatas.
Some got 4-500hp atw from them on their fist attempt.
Older KIA sportage utes used the FE rwd.
Here is an F2t 2.2L sohc 12v replaced by an FE. 11.2sec fwd is fast.

hey mate i would personlly go an sr20det. As one of my mates runs one in an escort that weights 950kg it puttin out 487rwhp on pump fuel and i havent seen a car come near it on the street. It runs very well has has been makin over 460rwhp for 25000 kms. Plus there are parts everywhere for these engines.

4g63 dohc are good too but just to much fukin around gearbox, crankangle sensor and intake pleuim and so one

being a mazda and all, go the 13b turbo, it's light as and you can screw crazy amounts of power from them ,and if you use the right seals it'll last forever...
