Questions on car rules in Sydney
Hi there, new to Sydney from Chrhistchurch.
I have a few questions regarding rules around the following:
Wheels spacers, these aren't a problem in NZ as long as your within certain ranges/have the right kind of spacer. What is the deal with them in Sydney? Following on from this, is a tyre with the rim wider than the wall of the tyre (as it should be :P ) allowed? i,e a mild stretch on the tyre angling the wall back towards the centre of the tyre.
How long can your car be? In NZ the general rule is no less that 100mm from the ground to chassis or something like that. A car with coil overs is what I'll be using so wondering what the deal is there also.

Minimum low is 100mm to the lowest part (usually the exhaust) with the designed load capacity although the boys in blue seem to check the ride height unloaded.
Wheel spacers are a no no UNLESS they were supplied and fitted by the manufacturers when tested for ADR's.
Stretched tyres one would think that if there fitted to rims that are outside the tyre makers specs can/would be considered unroadworthy in the event of a crash and you may not be covered by your insurance company.
IF YOU HAVE SOME SILLY EXTREME STRETCH AND THE TYRE LOSES PRESSURE IT WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY COME AWAY FROM THE WHEEL BEAD WHEN CORNERING RESULTING IN THE RIM DIGGING INTO THE ROAD AND THE CAR ROLLING .

Coil Overs are technically illegal here too, unless engineered.

I think there was a hint on the forum that you bought the silver Nissan twincam widey and so it would be coming back to Sydney.
I hope you have all paperwork from when the car was engineered and regoed in NSW. Otherwise, you will need to get it re-engineered in NSW again.
If not, you may need to get in contact with Jason...Starion4me.

Hey there, yup quite right I sure have.
