Pic to show the length difference in a stock strut vs VN insert. Both collars are lined up with each other and both shocks are fully extended.

Quick update on an issue and a fix.

The rear suspension was banging when the rear suspension was unloading over bumps etc. I figured something was loose in there somewhere so I pulled one side off the car to look further into it.

On the top of the VN strut, the unthreaded part below the thread is longer than on a stock strut. When the spring cup and the strut mount were put on and the nut tightened up, the two parts are thinner than the unthreaded part on the shock. Therefore I could do the nut up tight but could never get the whole lot tight together....oops.

Solution once I figured this out is to put some washers on top, below the nut. This allows everything to be tightened properly and hopefully shouldn't move over bumps.
