BRAKE ROTORS??

Post by WIDEBODYMAN »

Has anyone bought and fitted Front and Rear Rotors from eBay in the US?..
I've got a UK spec 2.0 widebody undergoing a resto but need all 4 brake rotors..I can't get them in Oz as mine are 5 stud & all the cars here are 4 stud..i've been looking on eBay and there's plenty for about 250 bucks for cross drilled & vented with ceramic pads..It seems a bit cheap to me!..
I need to know if they're a good fit or if there's a catch..They say no modification reqd..

Also does anyone know if the 2.6 has the same brake set up as the 2.0??..I think it does, but could be wrong..

thanks

Brakes are the same and the US is the only place to get 5 stud rotors from. The rotors from R1 Concepts are of decent quality.

I had the cross drill, vented ones and put them on my 5 stud. Fit perfectly, no catch.
You can redrill the rear 4 stud rotors to 5 stud as well.

I thought the rear 5 stud rotors were larger diameter than 4 stud, just like the front?

Fronts are definitely bigger, I was sure the rears were the same. Someone will confirm this though.

The crossed drilled ones do look awesome though, go those ones.

Well I have both a narrowbody from 83 and a widebody from 88

But the widey has larger diameter rear discs

The brake calipers are the same, but the bracket to bolt it to the hub has a different offset.

Il second kiwi ex comment the R1 concepts rotors are great quality, fit perfectly and from all accounts stop bloody well. A bit more pricey than some but you dont want to skimp on brakes

If they are UK spec (mine has 5 stud) then would this site be useful?

Thanks for all the comments guys..I have taken your advice and ordered the full set of Rotors and pads from R1 Concepts.. Had my calipers overhauled and painted Red which should look awesome when I pick them up..
cheers again..
