SuperLap featuring Rad (oldfart) ?

Post by Sargeant_Khan »

Hi guys and gals, I'll be heading down to ec sydney for the world time attack again this year. The best racing event I have ever been too.

I recall Oldie saying to me that he couldn't afford to get down to it to compete, can I call for an expression of interest for Austarion members to sponsor Rad to enter the event?

I haven't run this by Rad yet so I dont know if he is free to compete, but i'd like to know if the forum, members business, were able to sponsor Rad, being one of the forums more unique members to enter this special event.

Thanks guys, it wouldn't be hard to get him down there if he is keen im sure.

Jay

They have actually put the price up this year & you need to submit lap times for them to consider accepting your application.

But I'm all for it. I know Brett would be there if he could afford it.

Jay I an stunned and appreciate your good intentions in putting up one of my " bucket list" (things one would hope to do before falling off the perch) but I fear my JB may be outside the clubman rules seeing it is a twincam with an RX7 box.
Thanks again for your kind thoughts.

Ahh, I forgot about that. The twincam you can get away with, but the rx-7 box bumps you up a class essentially.

Rad,

I believe your memory appears to be fading: your gearbox is an OEM Mitsubishi Triton box and is therefore eligible in the Clubsprint Class. ;)

I think those rules are a little silly as they allow aftermarket gearsets, but you cannot mix OEM boxes. Ie, can use an Xtrac box but not an RX7 box...

What I can offer is to pay for rad's entry fee as long as I am the sponsor so I can have my business on the feature and I can keep the pit crew entry tickets. Then its up to austarion to help get rad down there, accommodation and consumables like tyres and brake pads.
