Your suggestions of a family car around $10 - $11K
Trash, a 13 year old Audi, nice as they are would not make it past the wife, she has her sights set on an XR6. She wants an Auto while the kids are young and rather distracting in the back. And I wont buy a 4 pot auto.
I have considered a 380 but I don't know much about them. Still lots of options. But only if the Territory sells.
Keep them coming :beer

Not if you lived here, it wouldn't.
If you want to keep your service and maintenance costs at normal level with a euro car, you dont buy anything pre 04/05. Thats when euro's really became the "norm" in australia.

Only 280kms, less than I thought!
Notice how there is no really good pics of the interior, that will be fubar.
And it probably uses 1l of oil every 3 weeks.

"Brief Comments 12months rego, extremly tidy, cruises beautifuly getting 9.4l/100kms on freeway. no isues mustgoasap."
LOL, Our Territory gets 9.8 on the free way!!
That's the sort of thing I would expect to pay $5K for! Nice as it looks, I'd rather an 05 XR6 for that money, or it seams you can get a high K's 08 one for the same money. Not that you would want too.
oh i wasn't putting that up as a suggestion.. i was just answering fugazi's question..

I've been looking at cars in a similar price range, but what I'm looking for differs in that I need it to be 4WD and have a good tow capacity.
So through the course of looking I'd recommend;
Nissan Stagea - 5 seats massive boot, 2.5 turbo power and AWD.
It doesn't really matter which model you get either because they're all awesome cars. I've got one, and the only reason I'm selling it is because it would be useless offroad.
Toyota Caldina - I know it's a 4-pot, but it has a turbo and a good amount of power. Not too big a car, but a good amount of room in the back also.
Mazda Tribute/Ford Escape - V6, big boot, plenty of interior space, and nice to drive.
I wouldn't buy Euro in this country. Torx bolts, parts prcing, and the fact that not all mechanics will actually work on them makes them not a great choice. You might buy one and have no trouble whatsoever with it, but if you do have trouble... :glare: :x :(

NachoMan Interesting! I wouldn't of looked at the Nissan, nothing against them. Just never thought of them.
what do you want to tow with your 4wd when you get one?
I've looked at some Pajero's that look good, but are mostly high K's :(
The guy who was keen on our Territory has not got his finance worked out yet, but he was telling me that he is keen for an 06 Charcoal grey one :x For $1k less then mine :?

Automatic headlights, power fold in door mirrors, well screwed together, and so nice to drive!
I'll mostly be towing cars when I eventually get my 4WD...
LOL
In an interesting development, I can now take on the car yards at their own game!
How you ask?
Well, now I can offer a full 3 years Warranty on my car! Clear Title
And Finance!!!
Question is, with a bit over 18 months till it's paid off. Do I bother with the headache??
It is only for sale so that I'm not too stretched with the lease payments on it and an Excavator.
