Air Filter
How do you go about hooking up a aftermarket pod filter instead of having the air box with the sensor??

Difficult to achieve & gives you no extra performance..
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

i ran 13.8 with a stock uncut airbox on my first JA, just disconnected the air feed from the guard and ran a cold air pipe to it..

You don't have to re-map your ECU and yes you get rid of the kharman vortex AFM. I also run a jaycar FCD to combat the boost limit. I strongly suggest using an A/F ratio gauge (wide band) to tune it in.

running a vent to atmo bov will still affect emissions, namely crankcase ventilation, and also turbo's always emit SOME oil into the air coming out of them, so it'll fail on that count too..

Perhaps under emissions laws in QLD. So you're telling
me you can't tune a starion using a post turbo AFM
arrangement & still running the factory PVC system to comply
with emission laws pre 1986 which is all you're legally bound
to abide by? Honestly? Now...., hands up who owns a starion
that would pass an emissions test in their state tomorrow?
Technically if you had to put it over the pits, the engineers would
fail you on either noise or the standard (For off road use only)
My vr4 is registered and engineered in N.S.W with the identical
set up. My Hybrid GT spec IC and aftermarket IC piping is also
on the same engineers report. 14 pages last time I checked.

In qld, they dont test for exhaust emissions. a simple check under the bonnet will show if a car has all it's pollution gear hooked up though.
Positive crankcase ventilation is an ADR, THAT is the reason vent to atmosphere BOV's are illegal on cars/engine's made after 1974..

So the Hornets are out.. nice. Doesn't the PVC valve route straight into the inlet manifold on a starion? Anyway this is how little I know. ADR27B, ADR27C+ and ADR37/00 are the emission rules that cover from 1/1/1982 - 1/2/1986. These are the federal rules that engineers will reference against any state rules to determine the if a light vehicle built before 1989 is legal. I suggest you check the reference in regards to vehicles built pre 1989. Now run along and "Tony Abbott" some other topic.
