May I suggest that you still retain the bonnet safety catch in case you forget to fit the bonnet pins. I've seen it happen too many times where the bonnet flies up because someone forgot the bonnet pins, & there was no safety catch. Usually destroys the bonnet & the windscreen. Cost of repair can be up around $1000, but the cost of safety catch probably <$10.

I don't know what events you are talking about?? Maybe when wood ducks forget to do fasten their bonnet pins? I have never ever seen bonnet pins fail, how would they fail anyway?

Even if you fit a cheap set and fit them correctly how do they fail? I race an escort locally, thats got 10 dollar bonnet pins on that and they've never broken.

The only way he could fit a bonnet catch would be to weld a catch into the intercooler.. I don't think this would be very helpful..

I think there is more art in the engine bay and not in the bonnet pins.

Just one more thing on my rant. Many racers have a preperation schedule, one of the most important things is to tighten your own wheels nuts. why? If a wheel comes loose who else do you have to blame? If you fasten your own bonnet pins, who else do you have to blame?

Always do things your self, then no one else can be blamed

I like how you mounted the coils and the inlet manifold looks good.

fpv - I dont see anyone mention bonnet pins failing, but rather people forgetting to do it up at times. Its human nature to make mistakes and no one is infallible. If you havent bought the bonnet pins yet, if I can suggest those flush ones, at least they are spring loaded and you dont have to worry about remembering to slip in the pin each time.
