Post by muttis3lv6 »

Driving the car and just died, no dash lights or power windows dead

As I have a aftermarket ECU i just jumped the fuel pump and drove home

looks like the lights work, and the stereo is working so power to the switch.

I have no idea where to start looking for the fault errr hints

A number of people have multiple wires going to the positive terminal of the battery. Occasionally these corrode causing strange effects. Start by checking with a meter for power at the source, then slowly make your way to the items that dont work. Of course, a wiring diagram will be essential.

Good luck, panda

Are they the ones that you have to remove the battery to get at them?

^ Yep, that's both the starting point and the most typical culprit.
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

...then there's that elusive FL under the airbox - I had a similar symptom once - had to get towed off the harbour bridge - Pssst - don't tell anyone :P... poor connection on the spade lug. Grrr. Was one very long and expensive trip out for gelato.
