a lot of guys fit them to get better and bigger brakes.

and how ae86 and ke70 share a lot of stuff.

does this mean that coilovers might be adapted to a starion?

(just a thought)

Just out of interest, they also use our brake boosters too!

But yeh as far as the struts go, would be great if we can find a Toyota person who has done this and check out with them what they had to do to make them fit.

I dont think there would any benefit, its not like they have off the shelf coilovers as the run the same integrated stub axle as the starion. I'd be more interested in the starions that have rx7 or silvia coilovers adapted to them.

what about using koni part number 8641-1221 inserts in the standard housing? they are koni sport adjustables for mr2. then you would have height and damping adjustment.

megan racing in the states do a weld on front coilover conversion for the AE86, also the yanks are organising D2 to make an off the shelf coilover set for starions, these are weld on as well (they weld onto the top of the cast stub axle)

there is a thread on SQC about it at the moment.

theres a few different types of coilovers for ae86 , i might grab a strut off a mate and do a few measurements , he has k sport ones with a sleeve type at the front and a bolt on one at the back .

why would you ? There r lots of detailed threads of starquests on various coilover options... even "slammed" on ebay/cosmo (~$200) coilovers - good owner feedback too.
Their spring rate already suited to staz, not the considerably lighter corolla.... which doesn't even have coilovers in the rear btw
Lotsa mr2 insert options available also, adjutable and non(low budget)

This would be the first bolt in kit i've seen for sale. If they are willing to make stub axles for the ae86 i wonder if we hound them enough that they can do that for the starion.
