hey, nah I didn't put my car up on wikipedia but a guy from another forum approached me to ask permission to do so.

Basically it's a 4th generation Galant, it's the very platform the Starion was based apon.

A164A = 2.0L with IRS.. it could be a coupe or a sedan, turbo or non-turbo.
For the turbo models in Japan, they either come as Galants or Eternas. The Galant comes in either GSR or GT, while the Eterna comes in GSR only. The Galant is generally more baron with a plain interior and usually missing many mod cons like electric windows, while the Eterna is the top spec model with everything.

For some reason it's a 1981 facelift model, but my 1982 Galant GT is still a pre-facelift, so not sure what's up with that. I was under the impression they facelifted the cars in late 1982.

Differences between Galant GT and Eterna GSR (I am unsure if these are Galant vs Eterna differences or GT vs GSR differences, as I haven't seen many Galant GSRs to compare)
* steel bumpers vs big rubber bumpers (I know this is a GT vs GSR thing as Galant GSR has the big bumpers too)
* wind up windows vs electric windows
* vinyl door trims vs cloth door trims
* basic rear seat with no head or arm rests vs split folding rear seat with head and arm rests
* key opening fuel filler release vs remote fuel filler release
* no map reading lights vs map reading lights
* basic boot trim vs full boot trim

Differences between pre-facelift and facelift
* quad recessed headlights vs big rectangular enclosed headlights
* turbo decal down the side vs turbo printed on plastic side trim
* three stage (red, yellow, green) boost light on dash vs boost gauge like the Starion one
* no LSD vs LSD on the very last of the facelift models (83-84)
* big square box type AFM and early round port TBI vs round type Starion AFM and early oval port (type A) TBI
* standard red/orange tail lamps vs clear cover tail lamps
* five digit odometer vs six digit odometer

That's all I can think of at the moment

Yeah it's probably the same one. That one above had been on trademe for at least 6-12 months for $2500-3000, I remember the plate and the wheels it was on.

There's also yet another white Galant GT in Queenstown:

Sporting an early Cordia Turbo bonnet scoop none the less.

Good to hear you snagged it DG. Will be watching with interest as your plans come together.

The lack of a split pulse manifold will make stuff all difference with the 16G. Just grind out the hole to make sure you match up to the 16G to get plenty of flow happening and it'll be sweet.

To go MPI it wouldnt be too hard to chop a FWD manifold leaving an inch or so of runner after the flange plate then TIG up some aluminium tube to a custom plenum (make the runners 8.5" total length). Drill a hole and TIG an injector bung in the middle of the runner between the 2 ports about 2" from the flange plate and you have a pretty reasonable and effective MPI setup. I can send photos of the custom manifold for my old DASH MPI set up for referencing if you want. :beer
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

yeah mate that would be great if you could!

I finally received the motor just the other day, it is missing the DASH specific dizzy, instead it has a standard 2 wire dizzy. Ah well, the MPI HG/HH SOHC Galants have the same dizzy supposedly. I will get more pics after I start tearing it down - it's in a very clean state (outside at least). The other thing to note is that it has a TC05 rather than a TD05, obviously not how it left the factory anyway.
