I think you mean VELNAS and it's an onboard trip computer commonly found on Jap import versions of the Starions and earlier import Scorpion turbos.

Ah, now I got it. I guess its typical Jap bling eh? Any pics in the forum of these velnas? Is that an obvious Acronym for something?

No seriously, as DG said, VELNAS is an onboard computer.

VELNAS - Vehicle Electronic Navigation System

It does computations for kilometres travelled, average speed, fuel economy, has an alarm and stopwatch functions, and for me most importantly, does distance and lap/stage timing!

Here's a crappy pic of it, below the radio (not my pic, mine has a silver fascia).

The output comes up on the small display that resides where the normal digital clock in housed. A huge single line of information, about the same size characters as the clock.

Sorry to disappoint you mate but there's not really much to see...
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
