Got the diff out of the car today, Bit of a pain doing it on the grass while still on its wheels, but thats all i could do.
My own peice of rocking horse poo. Factory 3.9 LSD. Still works like a charm as well. Took it from the car and buffed it up to remove the flaking paint and surface rust. Gave it some paint. Then removed the rear cover and cleaned the face (being stupidly overprotective not to get anything in the diff).
So why did i take the 20+ year old pressed tin cover off?
With the new Diff mounts
Now test fit placed into the rebuilt subframe
Looks like a tight fit but it doesnt touch anything. It is a factory Mitsubishi part after all :D
poor pic but you get the idea.
Have to go to the fastener place and get some zinc plated spring washers, nyloc nuts and new bolts if they have them in the sizes i need. Save some $$$ for strut inserts, got poly torque tube mounts coming, Cusco front camber plates are on the way from USA. Also have to look into getting a set of driveshafts rebuilt with new boots etc.

Well ive been spendin money again. :(
But i like what ive bought :D
Picked these up brand new off ebay for a bargain. $20 for the pair.
Got 2 packs of these. They are front swaybar endlink poly bushes.
Decided to try a set on the back to replace the rubber ones. I came up with this. Cleaned up the washers, bolt, spacer and used a nylock nut on the top. Bushes seem perfect for the rear.
Also bought these from ebay USA. Cusco front camber plates. Also have a set of rear Pillowball ones coming.
Also fitted the gauge faces.

Havnt done much lately. Works cut all overtime so the slush fund has dried up quite a bit. But i should be back into it once im back from Jamboree.
Started stripping the engine bay. Test fitted the new manifold and turbo to check for clearence. Plenty of room.
Now im happy it will fit ill get the wastegate mounted in a spot theres clearence then ill strip the engine bay bare and get the bay painted.

holy crap I'm loving that diff cover! Pity you can't make good use of the filler bung on it, but those fins sure would be good for cooling. That line at the top almost looks like it's for a factory air locker input line.
that turbo is looking massive too! Definitely a tidy build mate can't wait to see it together!

Yea, i saw the crack in the belt to Dave. May be able to stretch the budget and get a new one for the other motor, will see how i go :P
Diff cover is definatly a tight fit. Should also give more support being stronger then tin plate.
Couldnt place the turbo in a better spot. Got clearence from everything. Now to pull the bay back to nothing and repaint everything
