Post by Lunacy »

Man wasnt really looking for new wheels since ive already got my widey ones but hav funny feeling they aren't gonna clear my brakes so was browsing trademe and found these beauties :)
Theyre even correct offset (pre AU falcon) so no spacers required and for just over $400 a steal i thought!!!

Good buy :beer .They are same as my ones but your got 17x8(I have 16x8)

All the clear coat is the same too,I tryed sanding it off but would of being there for friggin ages so I put them on the lathe and re-machined and polished them.
Pity they didn't make 7 inch wide ones as they sit out past the front spoiler a bit.

Yeah clear coat is same as what my widey wheels looked like when they arrived, and after many countless hours of sanding finally got it off.
Will have these refinished i think, although that is way down the line at the moment as gotta finish engine and then start sanding the car back.
Not to mention suspension to build as well haha neverending jobs!!

they're R.O.H. ZS.

get a wheel guy or metal polisher to dip them for you, my guy charges 30 a rim, they come out naked, like they've just been cast...

The mag that didnt have the tyre is bent tho.....
You should hit him up about it, because I did draw it to his attention and he was going to change the way the auction read.
Definately repairable tho.

try crc strip off on the clear coat. used it on my rims and the shit will waterblast right off. keep it away from the silver tho. alot easier then sanding it off anyway.

Yeah i got some spray on stripper for my widey wheels which did a mint job of getting rid of the clear coat, then its just a whole lot of sanding to get them mint. Lucky i have plenty of time for that while im at work :)
