The "old girl" was a sports sedan though, where just about anything goes. If you start cutting things out, it kinda makes it hard to put them back if the need arises!

Cookie, what events are you entering? I was thinking about the "improved production" class. There's plenty of cars around the starions vintage, and the costs wouldnt be too over the top. I'll be needing alot more track k's befor I compete though

I was thinking about improved production class but after talking to the guys at Bond Rollbars Im not sure anymore. Improved production class is actually big bucks. They race their V8 rear wheel drive Magna in that class. The rules are pretty open.

This year will be all club events for me. Hillclimbs, supersprints etc etc. Then we'll see about improved production class in 2005. Although I don't know how far my budget stretch.

Yeah I thought that was weird too. He asked me what class I was thinking of running in and I told him 'Improved Production'. And he said "oh you'll be running against our V8 Magna." Maybe he misunderstood what I said.

IPRA rules

Post by WANTSOM »

Cookie,

As you know I have had a good look at this class as a possible playground.

The rules say (in essence) no structural modifications to the body work except (F&R) spoilers. Whether body work includes inner door skins could be open to debate and anyway we'd be that fast it'd be a waste.

I'd steer clear of the hole drilling for now.. bugger to replace if you wanta run IPRA in a year or so and have to buy 2 doors off me (at the right price of course). :D

Most of the guys seem to be running standard bodies but have taken their interiors to jenny craig big time. I'm told theres 5 kg's in the standard wiring so there's a weekend job for you.

Cheers
Greg
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

Actually you would be surprised how much of it has actually gone already.

Just perused the rules.. re the side intrusion bars.

The intrusion in the door can be removed provided the roll-cage is fitted with a side bar that sits at approximately the same position.
