They should be mechanical so you can adjust them yourself. If not its back to garage Redzone for you.

yep they're mechanical, easy to adjust, if u have ever done tappets before on any other car. have a look at a workshop manual man :)

I would recommend setting them at 8-10 thou on the inlet and 10-12 on the exhaust if this car is doing a bit of track work.

I dont think it causes problems. Unless they were way out of wack.

A feeler gauge and some basic tools and you can do it at home easy enough.
-JA Starion with JD bits , Forged engine, Heaps of mods (parked up)
-BFII XR6 Turbo Ute , Here comes 400hp for 2k :p
-77 Mazda 323 drag car. 13bt rotary project.

Yes i have too many toys.

The noise is just annoying.

And you have to adjust them while the engine is warm/hot. Be careful or give it to Redzone.

Are they mechanical in a V6?

Most Mitsi V6s have hydraulic lifters just like 4G63 DOHC, 4G92, 4G93 etc, unless it's a MIVEC V6 then it will have adjustable tappets.

It could also be the injectors - they can get quite loud and clicky when old.

Hi all
I am going back to the track on the 24 and want to be able to beat my GF in her CRX. You would think a turbo and 400cc more would be enough but she still kicked my ass. I need to get heaps done ...

I would say its still a sohc 2.0ltr by this previous comment.

sometimes when they've been loose for a while it damages the tips of the tappets and valves, and no amount of perfect adjustment will make em quiet.......
