Twin cam coil on plug
Twin cam coil on plug
Check out my new coil on plug setup. No ignition leads needed anymore, just the coil sitting on top of the spark plug.
The igniter units are built in to the top of the coil. So I have fed them directly with signal from my Haltech computer.
The coils are from a 2005 Toyota Tarago, part number 90919-02244. Purchased for $120 for the set from my local Just Jap wreckers.
I cut the mounting plate for the coils out of 4mm aluminum using a jigsaw and drilled the holes for the coils with a step drill.
I needed to change the spark plugs to Resistor spark plugs because the electrical noise from the firing coils was making my Haltech misfire when on boost.
The setup works well. It can handle 20 psi of boost and pulls hard.
