Post by bigd »

Hi all, as listing says I'm looking for a tc05 cheap if possible that doesn't smoke and an alternator that works!

Cheers

I have my original TC05 off the Eterna but I'm inclined to keep it, besides it's not an intercooled model turbo anyway. Let's hope this parts car is intercooled - it's a jap model as far as I know.

I think any cartridge will fit in the housing so prob doesn't matter if it's intercooled or not.

yeah that is true, was meant to say my original one is not water cooled - I'm guessing the Starion ones would be.

Generally speaking the JA's are not watercooled and the JB's are. Pends if someone has fiddled with the turbos or not...
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...

Just realised i've got a TC05-12A that I cannot see myself using. Couldn't tell you it's condition (cant remember which car it came off!) but it has got some detectable shaft play. I guess, consider it a rebuildable unit, but you might be lucky; I've used some with that much play and they still spool up well and produce strong boost. Anyway, I've put it out there....
Does this help you at all given there's this thing called the South Pacific Ocean between us?

Kinda no use to us when what we have are either Jap imported GSRI/II/III/Vs or NZ-spec EX (Euro-spec clones).

True, true.
My GSR-III is not watercooled - equivalent to a JA in that way.
