Acceleration Issues JA Starion

Post by whitie »

Hi folks. Looks like Im having a few issues with my JA starion.

When I start my car is drives perfect and when it heats to boost level and I boost it, it drives just fine.

HOWEVER!!!

After about 20 minutes and/or a bit of boosting, suddenly everytime I accelerate, when it gets to 5psi, its like there is no power in the turbo and my engine revs higher, my car doesnt really get faster and it backfires a bit with no power.

Pretty crazy eh? I think so. Any ideas would be super.

:)

You checked spark plugs??
Just replaced mine after some symtoms of power loss early in the rev range, they make a world of difference.

Is it the little wire coming out the bottom left of the radiator? do I do a resistance test?

that sounds like the thermostat if its on the radiator.

Nope, that's the temp switch that turns the electric fan on. The two coolant sensors (one for ECU, one for temp gauge) are mounted on the inlet manifold, under the thermostat.
