my windscreen wippers and headlights have stopped going got in car to drive the other morning was raining and dark turned lights on dash lights go tail lights go head lights go up and down but no light
wippers dont go in any position or when washer button is pushed
oddly highbeam and wippers will work if stalk is pulled towards the wheel
any suggestions would be appreciated

yeah ive checked the fuses they are a fine have a suspition thst its smthing in the stalk whick would b a pain as it wont come off may try pluging in the one from the other staz over the weekend any other suggestions

The combo switches' internal mechanisms are distinctly separate.
This might seem like a stupid question - do you know what size globes are in your headlights? Go and physically check. They should be 55/60s.
If higher rated ones are in there and there are no aftermarket relays on the headlights, you will have generated lots of heat in the wiring loom, particularly where the combo stalk plugs into the loom. If the wires are all funny looking that's what's happened, and depending on how it got hot, it can affect other things like wipers as they're all on the same plug from memory.
Your plug may have melted together, to fix that turn the lights to on and check if the wires get hot. If they do, whilst hot pull the plug off. Then you can look at fixing it.
