sr20 into a s12 gazelle

curious can it be done and is it a big f**k around, i have the money and i wanted something different, and if i had a spare 20k i would buy a staz cause thats about the amount of money u have to spend to get it running half good

i was just curious cause are fairly knowledgable people on here, knowing mass amounts of information on about other imports and i have posted a comment up there site, also another reason for asking there are engine enginner's on the site...

In short yes it will fit. Heaps of room. Go for it.

why not an FJ20 det? obviously easy as they came out in this vehicle originally (and DR30 skyline) the FJ head flows more than an SR and doesn`t have rockers or other top end problems..

but if u want an SR then yes i believe it can be done. sump dish location (front or rear) is the only place u might have to alter (by installing a sump off a different SR)

or u could buy my orange JA for 13k and have it running FULLY good :D :D LOL

u could do it, but why not just go fj20 as there are a very under rated engine!!!! im sure it would be a easy conversion. best of luck with the conversion!!!!

P.S. my mate runs a fj in his blubird 380rwhp standard engine never been opened!!!!!

also a CA18det will drop straight in
there is an S12 forum

in SA i know of two that got sr's
one bright green, other chameleon pink and blue

today i found a DR30 skyline front cut (FJ20det).... they`re still out there!

would be a bolt in if u could find a S12 FJ20det front cut... but they`re RARE!

id say go hard with the sr20!!!
they are such a universal conversion, ( had heaps of fun with one in a u12 bluebird )
and they are easy for parts etc AND THEY GO!!!!

ca18det be cheaper, and SR is the more modern supported engine parts wise

but i have seen a ca powered blue bird and believe me that went hard too 180kw at wheels easy

well the 4G63 twin cam is a very nice packaged engine especially with a few lil tweaks

but i have fallen in love with the bullet proof toyota 2JZ as in my Mk4 supra, days of me owning a starion are over now

one day i plan to build a nice sigma like i once had
