You can just buy brand new ones. It was one of my 'oh hell WOF' moments, and I left it to the mechanic, and sure enough brand new seatbelts were no problem.

Great thing about the new ones is that they actually retract  No more getting stuck in the bottom of the doors!

Sorry I can't be of more help for DIY on the subject, I was getting rather tired of the car and just flicked it to my mechanic for a month.

yeah. ive found that they won't re-web seat belts over 5 years old. and can get new front ones installed for $157.50 each . so that will be the go i think.

I still havent seen another starion in welly since I brought mine . very strange. (every time I buy a car , others seem to pop out of the woodwork, even 2dr R31 coupes)

Yeah the only two other Starions I've seen in person down here, I ended up buying. If you see one in Upper Hutt during the day, you can almost guarantee it is me. At the moment I'm using the red EX because the GSR-II likes to pretend its a diesel, and the black GSR-X is getting some interior TLC and rewiring.

It'd be nice to have seat belts that don't jam in the door.

You have a 2dr R31 coupe?
Watch your speed - It's virtually impossible to pick it out of the carpet if it gets blown off the table.
