can't dye polypropylene

Post by kit »

it is impossible to dye the carpet in your starion because the carpet is made of polypropylene which is non absorbant polypropylene is the same stuff shopping bags are made of if you paint your carpet it won't last.

No offence kit but I have had alot of "PRO'S" tell me what is impossible, oh that wont work, that wont last and so on and so on.

AND 99.9% of the time I have proven them wrong, I dont mean to say that your not good at your job.
but just because your computers, texts or your trainer/ employer/ ect, tells you that it wont work does not mean that it wont always work or isn't possible- can you fit 2 15 inch subs in the boot of a sirion according to where you got your system fitted NO YOU CANT, but in reality YES YOU CAN.(not my car, a mate of mine)

Not exactly the same situation I know but the same type of Im a Pro I know whats what.

Miss GSR now if you cut one fiber from your carpet and place it in water it floats that means it is non absorbant if you place wool or nylon in water they sink but polypropylene will float because it is plastic carpet is dyed with a acid based water based solution called soloution dyeing but to get colour into polypropylene you need to get the plasic into molten form and add colour then when they extrude the polypropylene into strands when drying thats how polypropylene is made the spray on dye you buy in a can is more like a paint that will rub off your polypropylene it will rub off over time

IF a dog pees on your carpet, kit can tell what kind of dog it was, what it ate and drank in the last 24 hours, how old it was and roughly what breed it is.... :puke the funniest part about all that is that I`M NOT JOKING!!!!!!!! he is the albert einstein of carpet. And you bet he picks up chicks with that knowledge......... rofl
