Smoke Issues
Smoke Issues
Ok well today i replaced all the vavle seals but i am still getting this smoke when i back off and then put my foot down again and when going down a hill while backed off and while idleing sometimes ??? what could it be?
smoky
It could be your turbo expecily if yar running a bit of boost an the rings or the boars are worn a bit creating preasure in the block an so on, but my car when its cold will throw out a sort of grey smoke that just looks like fuel but that because I need new injector (well thats what I tell myself) but I forgot what your problem was an jsut remebed about another prob I have with mine.
Cheers Rassy..........
P.S. If it aint realy blue or white smoke it aint oil.

oil smoke?
just a few things to check, 1: your PCV valve is in good working order?,
2: that your charcoal canister isn't full with oil, your oil seperater on air cleaner isn't blocked or full with oil? symptoms sound like high vaccum are doing it so not necessarly ring. 8)

30PSI,2.4L! Wolf 3D Ver 4. VR4 Head.
Blew a Seal... hahahahahahaha...
Hmmm, Yes, the classic penguin joke :)
Anyway,
Check your BOV. Make sure it's holding up under pressure. It may be
opening at high boost. Especially without the vacuum connected. Don't
forget the vacuum pressurises under boost...
I set my last BOV to 1PSI over max boost to avoid that.
Anyway, check for oil-cap-jitter. (If you loosen the oil cap when idling,
does it
a) Jitter
b) stay still, nothing unusual
c) Seem to be sucked down slightly.
What it means.
a) Would explain smoke.
b) Isn't great, but probably isn't bad either.
c) Is fantastic... Good rings.
Other than that, check the static seal at the back of the turbo. Look for signs of oil leaking from the snail clamp.
Regards
David.
