Centre Console

Ok, so needing to look at replacing my current centre console as part of this entire refurbishment. The old one, has been wrestled too many times in and out of the car from what I can tell and as such, is very close to the end of its life. Questions are

1) Has anyone fitted a console from a more readily available car?
2) Has anyone made a new console from scratch, and still has some design plans?*
3) If so, can I borrow/use them

*I understand Vulpes made one, but does anyone know if he had some schematics for it.

As always, any help is appreciated.

I have the car that Vulpes rebuilt and I do love the centre console, looks great.
