quick look seems to be a JA series 1 with JB bonnet but being a jap import it may be a carby version but why has such an early model got the flat bonnet? Could be a car put together with scorpion running gear? or is a rare original!

It's a GX!! Must... have...

It looks like it used to have fender mirrors, would have been fully sikk with those on... LOL...

Weird it has power windows though, and power mirrors. It's gotta be a GX with that gauge cluster though.

Someone get some pics of the underside of it to see if it has a solid axle.

I think that if this is a factory non-turbo, solid rear axle starion then this would be rarer then a DASH motored widebody?

It wont be a JA or a JB, that's for the Australian model only. It may be similar in appearance and spec to a JA, but it wont be a JA.

It is actually an A182A model which means live axle and cable clutch gearbox. I believe 1982 was the only year they sold the non-turbo model, and they were discontinued shortly after due to very poor sales compared to the turbo model. Note that it originally had fender mounted mirrors which have been plugged up, and instead what looks to be generic aftermarket wing mirrors have been appallingly fitted to the doors.

it may be more 'rare' than the DASH Starion, but in this case that means very little when it's a hopelessly poor vehicle. The first of the Jap spec turbos with TC05s and no intercooler are marginal when it comes to power, the carburettored engine would be even worse. The axle would be the same as the 4th gen Galant/Sigmas.

Its definately a massive pos. But quite a rare pos. The gx had the manual windows but surely automatic windows were an option on these? I thought they sold these in 1980. Buy it and send me that dash. :beer

The live axle setup would help make a good base for a drag car build, DAMNIT!

Actually this would make a good base for a Twinky conversion/big build up.

Hey DJ, do you still have the police car or is it stuffed?

Yeah this thing is basically a short wheelbase scorpion with a 4G63 L300 van motor in it lol..

Having said that, someone needs to buy this & preserve it, there wouldn't be many left!

Police car is still around, but needs some love after a kicked rod a while back. Im going swap everything over to a clean chassis and have a mean street car I think.

I used to own a factory non turbo starion. Years ago though.

$4000 is a bit steep......

Yeah, I think it's about $2500-3000 over priced to be honest.
