It's a JA - 1982/1983.

What's it worth? Well not much judging by those pics. Under a $1000 for sure.

Not to put you off Starions, but this may not turn out to be the most reliable daily you could find if that's what you need.

Power steering/engine oil leaks and a dirty/clapped out fuel system will probably be your first issues. Fortunately it doesn't look like it had any major rust problems before it was parked under that tree.

Since it has been sitting around for a while, I suggest that you give it a thorough clean...and I don't mean the outside. Start with the fuel system - check the tank for internal corrosion, check the fuel lines for cracks, check the injectors/ECI system for leaks, change the fuel filter.

Oils: - engine & filter - change; gearbox & diff - check and replace if necessary

Check the radiator and all water hoses. Also, the water pipe that goes round the back of the block on the drivers side from the water pump - these often corrode.

Check radiator and flush/top up if necessary.

Power steering - check for leaks and cracks in both solid and flexibile pipes/hoses.

Check wheels bearings and brakes.

Rust is common, check the usual spots like bottom of guards and rear 1/4's; around window sills and also the bottom of the doors. Also on the body just below the doors.

With a good clean up this car will come up quite well. Another Starion saved :)

Have fun and welcome to Austarion :D

^^^ I second everything Nxtime said. You were very lucky it started at all given it had been sitting. The fuel systems normally block up on these, especially if there's crap in the tank. If it were mine I'd drop the tank & clean it, replace the in tank fuel strainer, clean the pump wire filter, blow out the lines & replace the fuel filter. And run some fuel system cleaner as well to clean the injectors, maybe even run some carby cleaner into the fuel line so the injectors get a clean too.
Don't reuse the fuel either, save it for your mower!
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
