I live in the western suburbs of Brisbane and we border Pullen Pullen Creek and have had our fence flattened by flood waters in 08 & 09 and then we were app 2.5 metres above the water to our floor level then.
Don't know what the level was in the 74 flood was here but we are told that it will exceed it by a fair bit.
The Staz is in Minden (at Lees workshop getting a new billet steel flywheel and clutch reco as well but it is up on a hoist at head ht) which is in the Lockyer Valley and water has come onto the property there.
Spoke to Lee today and they are marooned with the road shortly before his street 2 metres under so fingers xxx for both places to survive.
So much for climate change and the planet heating up as it has been the coolest, wettest summer in my 70 odd years.
PS we have flood insurance and the Staz is covered for 12k and I have salvage rights but hey I really don't want to have to lodge a claim on either the house or car

Yer Rad, I hope you are all ok, should we hijack this thread and talk about what a load of government tax motivated propaganda global warming is ( oops sorry "climate change" because the world hasnt warmed since 1998 ). Amazing but I have well educated friends with scientific backgrounds that fail to look at the cold hard facts about global warming and still swallow this load of Gov crap. Remember when its cold like it was last winter and now summer it's just weather but if it was a heatwave then that's global warming.

I wonder how glengsrIII is doing (if thats his username?) Im pretty sure he is in a region that has been evacuated. I wonder whats happening with his staz.
Flood waters came into my house today. Lucky im two floors, had to raise a couple of staz parts so they didnt get wet though. Also they evacuated my work because everyones way home crossed a bridge, and they were all flooding.

Fortunately the creek is not tidal but we are marooned in as we can't get into Kenmore as the main road at the bottom of the long hill inbound is at least 3 metres under as is the outbound road to the Bellbowrie shopping centre which is flooded
