Sydneysider advice needed

Post by RiceThief »

I am looking at going down to watch the superlap event in may and am wondering what suburb is located within access of eastern creek raceway while not to far away from the nightlife which i assume is around the cbd?

somewhere like parramatta might be suitable then.. i've only ever been to eastern creek by car, and the drive from parramatta isn't too bad.. 15 minutes. Parramatta is a bit far from the Sydney CBD, but public transport connections are good - buses and trains plus night rides for late night returns. You don't really wanna drive into the Sydney CBD.. parking is shit.

I'd get a room in the city (they typically have parking include in the room)
Some where near the Rocks is a great place to hang out at night.
Use wotif.com to try and find a cheap room a bit closer to the day.

Or Star City Casino and an easy walk around to Darling Harbour and King st Wharf.

PS: The bloke who is doing my intercooler etc. I think he is working on a car for this event. It is a 2 door WRX full carbon fibre widebody! Everything is carbon fibre except the roof. I'v never seen anything like it.

Bao,

North Ryde has some good hotels and is 20 minutes along the m2/m7 motorway to E/Creek and 20 minutes into the city. There's also 2 good pubs close by - The Epping Hotel has good food and entertainment and is only 5 minutes away and The Ranch has a good bar/bistro facility.

Let me know when you are down and we'll catch up and prob come out for a look wth you if you want.

How long will you be down here for? Let me know and we'll make sure you're looked after. :beer

Hey Greg, a fellow austarion member and I will be leaving brisbane in the morning on the 21st of May, and we will stay two nights and leave in the afternoon on Sunday.

Would definately look at catching up, it will be great to put a face to a name.

Greg have you considered entering in the open class? It would be great to see a starion represent an event, especially one as well sorted as yours. We can be your pit crew :D

I live in North Ryde.. sorry wantsom, i wouldn't say it's the best for nightlife :P

although, public transport has improved now with the new train station..

and the m2.. expect to pay 4:40 per entry.. really nice motorway.. but a bit pricey eh.

Definately in for a meet and greet :beer

and x2 on the wantsom entering the open class thingo :D I wish i could enter in the street class.. but with not enough funds for a race budget and not being certain that my car will be complete by then.. i don't think i'm in a position to enter.. and with absolutely NO track experience, perhaps a world event at eastern creek isn't the best place to start and make a fool of myself eh? lol
