SOHC "ok for the 80s" as well.
some of the fastest sohc starquests to date ran T04B turbos. Size correctly give excellent street response. Spend two to three times as much on a 4-500hp turbo, only to do 'slightly' better.

no problems ith the to4 units , i have seen wonders done with a t04e on a 2.6 , yep they are cheap , and cheap to rebuild but you need correct matcing of housings to get the right set up ,

b/b units cost more but are more responsive and last longer and these days a unit off the self will get you where you want to go .

1/3 of the price is cheap , but when you blow the unit 3 times its not .

getting an originall garret , with good parts is hard these days , there are alot of cheap and nast knock offs around on ebay , these units will work ok , but its recomended to have it re balanced and checked first , so your $450 turbo is allready upto $600 , then lines and adapters $$$ , then if it goes poooooooof , splat , you are well behind .

lets face it , when a turbo goes bang , most will not stop at just at that , most will also want to do this and that .
well thats how i am any way ..
old skool jap ...........

Going by the lack of a reply to that question , and the level of maturity shown by him from the start of this post , we can summise as follows :

He's under 20 years old , works as a trolley boy , and learnt all of his 'orsum mekanikan skilz' from that God and legend of Motor vehicle modification:

His next door neighbors brother Big Kev who knows everything there is to know about hottin' up cars coz he's seen 'Fast and the Furious' 42 times .

If its such a waste of money running a stock Starion, then why did Mitsubishi do it and win so many rally and racing events. With that mentality, you would think driving any car stock is a waste of money. You really need to grow the fuck up.

dude your thread is titled " my stock starion ladys" .. and its obviously not stock, majority of the starions on this site aren't stock or are on their way to no longer being stock.. you have confused the hell out of me.

what is this post about?? cause at the moment its you tossing off at how awesome your non-running car is . right now your well on the way to being labelled "roger II" at which point no matter what you post in the future it'll be ridiculed simply because you said it.

...'well over 20' hmmm? Are we talking the base 10 numeric system here, or a somewhat lesser one (like base 3, which would make you 6 years old) ?

Other than that - hello, Roger (or good likeness thereof) ...this certainly brings back some memories of our favourite car forum bannee! Can you start a thread titled 'Any tough car in here ladys [sic]?'

Can you tell us what your intercooler setup is - and more importantly, if it's top secret?

OMG - I just realised - I've been wasting petrol for the last 20 years on my shitboxes. I must be punished!

bb will give u what.... ~2-300rpm faster spin up for same size turbo.
Negligible for street performance really.
T04b and older turbos lasts years. They don't fail 3 times more.

Even ebay turbos getting it done nowadays. Seen a few very fast
street cars sporting $150-350 ebay jobs, holding up @25-30psi! No
additional balancing, bolted straight on.
From observation, these turbos outlast their "upgrade stage". At that
point you can throw it away... vs say, getting on the 'gt bb
bandwagon' to pay $1200 for a gt30, only to outgrow it 8 months later
when you'll be lucky to see $600 at resale

good to have 'options' in any event
