Regarding the LSD's found in Starions, how strong are they? And in the event of one breaking are they rebuildable?

I only ask because I have one in my lancer and am at times paranoid about breaking it as I am well aware of their rarity.

Yes they are strong.

How strong? It's kinda like string length isn't it.

Anyway, they are pretty strong. The one in my Rally car has never broken and the previous guys who drove it have managed to break several LSDs in VR4s so they miss it's reliability.

But like most things, they need to be serviced and looked after.

And if it breaks in operation? I'd say that was a fitting end for a LSD - to give it's life in service of a driver's enjoyment.

They can be rebuilt. I know a Rally Starion owner who has done it/had it done using new parts.

locked diffs are dangerous. they were only meant for trucks under special circumstances. They are not designed for cornering, ht the corner frong with abit of throttle and you will keep going straight. never will i use one.

My new Starion has an LSD, what's involved in a service? Take off the wheel and blow?
