that blue car doesn't seem to be in need of any engine cooling? is it rwd? if it is, I would want it, even if it's a renault.. it looks SICK!!!
OLD FART wrote:the rare TMR supercharged 380 ( that was produced as a rival for sc Camry/Aurion ) might be the way to go. ADR approved so no worries with emissions etc
Sprintex have a kit especially for 380's if that kind of thing rocks your boat
the TMR is fwd, so not quite my cup of tea... unless this Sprintex kit you speak of is an awd conversion kit :P

are Camira's fwd or rwd? It has been mentioned on multiple occasions to me that Camiras suffered from a variety of electrical problems.. and you always want to stay away from cars with dodgy factory electrics.. this is the reason I have never hunted down an awd turbo calibra.. always wanted one, but they have dodgy electrics too :(

Camiras and Magnas were nothing of the same page.

As for twisties, I've had alot of different fwds through them, and again, prefer them.
Not exactly going for the Initial D factor through the hills and what not.

Also had a lot of the awd cars through the same routes, and was nothing much a difference, except for getting up the hills quicker due to those cars having turbos.

Yes, the front tyres are being punished, but there cries of glory not screams of pain LOL

redzone wrote:how the hell can you actually PREFER FWD? just curious.. FWD is so incredibly uninspiring to me, i've driven a few well set up ones, and owned one (an N14 SSS that did 15.5's) and it just feels like you're raping grandma's car if you ever take em into some twisties. you feel so insulated, and knowing the physics of what those front tyres are being asked to do (provide drive and steer at the same time) just puts me off...

also the more power you have, the less you can use it...
Front wheel drive equals yawn, except for driving it at the edge. Usually that means driving it at the edge of tyre adhesion and at the edge of the road. Gotta love that "oh shit I'm going to run straight of the road" feeling when in a corner with some speed in a front drive. Nowhere near as much fun to drive at speed and much more dangerous in my mind.
Gimme some power in a rear drive, and power-on oversteer will sort it...and a grin will appear.

Can you explain where you were going with this point DG?
redzone wrote: ps the local magna's reputation comes from a highly irregular build quality, much the same as what the camira suffered from...
The Camira (which amazingly also won car of the year in 1980 I think) also suffered from the affliction of factory smoke...it was a bit of a Holden parts bin car too.

The R8 gordini is a rear engined RWD with a huge 1100 or 1300 donk. This one shown is the 1300 which puts out 90bhp. Weighs under 900 kilos but its a still slow car.

Sprintex is a supercharger, definitely not an AWD conversion.
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
