My problem is that the buttons on either side of the guage cluster (to turn on headlights and hazard lights etc.) eventually became so brittle that they just fell apart.
Cheers.
mine kept popping out and one actually flew out the window one night..

I pulled the right switch bank out of the dash and with a lot of patience, I pulled it apart, lots of little springs and things, if you do it carefully you might be able to repair it, like I did.. the switches pop out because the little hook that holds them in there breaks off, so you have to get them out and glue (read araldite) bits of paperclip in the shape of an "L" at the end, put them back together and they should be ok...

I had the same problem about two months back, after much research was able to obtain some replacement switches and fit them. Now everything is back to normal.

I see you are located in Perth, maybe you would like to PM me and I could let you know my contact number.

I have a JB electrical diagram which i could send you.

I posted a WTB request on http://www.starquestclub.com and got several replies, even though their clusters are opposite the switches are the same. If you wish to contact this person lives4speed@earthlink.net he has them available and is prepared to sell you a set for approx $25.

Also if you D/L the conquest manual which is available on the web, you will find this very helpful in describing the different functions and action of each circuit. Between that and the JB diagram i have was able to work out everything which enabled me to get the lights down until i got the switches and replaced them. It actual takes about 3 jumpers just to get the lights down.

I also live in Perth and if you care to drop by maybe i can assist you in getting the problem resolved.
