Been a lot of pipeworks going on!
Very comprehensive cage, is the top of the main hoop tagged to the roof?
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

Re cage

Post by starionc »

Yes the cage has 1 or 2 meters of pipe from the front towers to the rear towers rofl
No the main hoop is not tagged to the roof, it is tagged at the sides though.

Thanks again to Rob for putting them up :beer :beer :beer :beer

Cheers Jason

How'd you decide on your cage design?
Is the cage tagged to the A pillar once or twice each side?
Looking very good!
Not getting it certified by any group?

I just told Bonds what the car was being built for!

No the cage is not yet tagged to the A pillars. I might do that when I get the windscreen out and then paint the car.

The car was built to run AMSAG but would be able to run CAMS as well. It's a Bonds cage so getting it certified will be easy.

Bonds have all the specs on it if anyone else needs a weld in cage bent up!

So far it looks like a top job mate! The rollcage looks very well thought out and the interior is minimalist which is just how i like them.

I do have one question though regarding your intercooler piping. Why didnt you rotate the front housing of the turbo to get it pointing away from the engine to cut down on bends and extra piping?

why not just clock the compressor housing around a bit to avoid having that extra amount of intercooler plumbing and bends?

Jason, you know you could always turn the turbo housing anti-clockwise about 180° and have the turbo to cooler piping take a much shorter route...

Vulpes. How did BARUP go with that turbo? How old is it and how much do you want for it? I'm thinking of the evo3 type from GT Pumps. But not just yet :(

MrSarkle. I didn't think you were mate I just took it as a question :beer
It was a good point. Shorter is better for cooler piping, but it is that way for now :beer

NXTIME. Can you still bolt up the actuator that way?

Cheers Jason
