Hi again, long time no see

At least I have done a loots of kilometeres with my WB around poland, car is amazing and is much faster than I expected

car accelerate faster than eclipse 4g 3,8L or eclipse turbo 240 ps.
probably preious owner done some upgrades before but everythink looks like stock

other important think is, Iam little dissapointed about DIFERENTIAL, or LSD is dead , or my differential is from non-LSD model.

have U got any photos how can I recognise a difference?

we lift my car today over our heads and we done simple test with diff.. we move one wheel and there was no reaction on other side of the axle.

if I have non LSD diff, then probably Iam gonna by LSDdiff or what othere think U could recomend?
is this possible to instal better diff than starion one?

regarding the Evo 8 turbo - Evo4 onwards turbos are twin scroll, which in addition to being turned the other way will require a properly designed and made manifold to suit. It works by pairing up the pulses of the exhaust gasses to spool up the turbo faster. If you don't pair up the correct cylinders (1 + 4 & 2 + 3) it will not work as well.

I'm looking at designing a manifold to suit my Evo 6.5 TME TD05HRA onto my DOHC head.

Yes, I know, thats whay I decide to delay that proces of evo8 swap.

to many other mechanical problems at the moment and not enaught time :(

probabely I will decide to swap some other turbo (PLUG n PLAY)

all my rubber pipes, gaskets and silencers are completely dried and faded, that make loads of leaks and problems, today my power sterring hose just explode, all my engine bay is covered with transmission oil, long time to clean :/

Tommi , you most likely have a open diff.

I think most widebodies sold on mainland europe were open diffs.

both '88 widebodies I own have a open diff and almost all that i've encountered here in Holland were open diff.

If you want a LSD.. get it from the UK as they are alot more common there.
That is where I got mine. (shipping was alot more then what I paid for the diff)

Actually you could also just get the center as it all fits in the open housing (just get one of the same year)

can U read my vin number and say what type of starion it is?

JMBA187AMKZ400228

only mods I know is I got swapped engine from 2,6 for 2.0 engine.

other question, my turbo bost is 0,5 .
how much more I can use in stock engine? is starion CPU is able to operate with higher bost?

also, i found a label on the back of the differential, I recon its written N8E or N8B..... there could be another symbol after , but iam not sure label is scratched,

It's an A187A model, meaning it should be a widebody with a 2.6L engine in it.

It seems to have a chassis prefix different to Japanese models, ie mine is E-A164A-0003768

That vin number looks similar to the one on my widebody.

I think you have a Euro spec widebody

And if you have a N8 diff... then its a regular open diff.

when I'm home (and it stops raining) i'll check the vin on my 2.6 euro widebody.

thanks a lot, that makes all very clear.
I thought that all widebodies was with stock LSD

so If I decide to take off my N8 differential, is there is any better alternative than stock starion LSD diff?

only if you own a fabrication shop and can make everyting fit. or if you are a multi millionaire. otherwise the stock setup is awesome.

Depending on what you can get your hands on.

Basically a lsd from a starion of the same year fits.
So you can get it form the US or from the UK.

You only need the actual lsd because it all fits your open differential housing.

to recognize a lsd just look into one of the axle holes.

a open diff will look like this:

and a LSD will look like this:

The lsd diff will have a hole in the middle, a open diff has a pin.

Are u sure about the open diff having a hole in the middle and open diff has a pin?

The lsd diff got from Flav has a pin at both ends of the hole

The diffs in the pictures are the larger differentials that use 6 bolt axles

So the larger LSD is probably different from the small one.

But if the diff has a single pin then it's always a open diff (at least for starions)

thanks very much for the pictures and the info xentro, was looking for an easy way to tell if a staz diff was lsd or not..

turns out the one in my parts car is not an lsd.. I'm gonna go beat up that lying bastard that sold me the car one day.. make sure he has to pay the hospital the amount he ripped me off by..

Confirmation for small LSD having one pin at each hole?
