the 'SHP' thing is a US term as that was an option or the 1988-89 versions in the US - adjustable shocks and wider wheels and tyres.

I haven't seen a JDM widey with the 8 and 9" stock wheels, but everyone that I have come across has had the adjustable shocks.

Sweet. I will most likely be looking into it sometime this week. If I don't have them, I will most likely be the first you have come across and the most unlucky one

Even with my widey, I don't have the adjustable suspension! They might have been replaced with updated shocks,
but I don't think so... as it looks original.
The SSR wheels on my car were the equivalent of SHP wheels in Japan (7.5 front and 8.5in rear and I also have
5mm spacers on the rear!)
There is a post on the forum covering this.... stating the 8's & 9's were not available in the JDM, due to regulations
and some road tax?? So basically, this was only for the US market.

I now have SHP wheels. :D

Oh, and congratulations and welcome to the black widebody club! :beer

Euro spec did not get the adjustable shocks either.
I'm pretty sure the SHP wide wheels are US market only.

Well having a quick look at that, my RIMS aren't SHP. Are yours?

I want to remove the rim to look at mine, which is hard because my key is hard to get to. (Locking nut Key)

Hey WidebodyWoody, you can see the adjusters by turning
your right wheel full RIGHT or vise versa.
I dont have the 8" and 9" wheels, but if you know where I can
get some I`ll give you my 7"/8" set.

ahahaha I never thought about that. I doubt that I have them otherwise I would have seen it by now, but I will check it out when I get home from work. Thanks. And unfortunately I don't know where you could get some from, maybe redzone knows.

You could buy them off Oscar-the-grouch in the US, but availability and (shipping) cost might be the prohibitive factor.

was there ever a SHP rear set? Because I only really looked at the rear set on mine last time I checked, I didn't get time to check last night. But I may be interested. Maybe. depends on if they are good. I don't know exactly what they do yet :p Unless they change the stiffness of the suspension.

yeah they have fronts and rears. i only have fronts. havnt had them in a car, but they dont leak. they are externally adjustable shocks, so basically yes they change the stiffness.. i got them from charlie when i got the big lsd and 5 stud conversion, i believe he got them from oscar :beer

ok just checked my car, and I DON'T have them

I take it this has the shocks Inside them as a sealed unit still. I think I might just stick with mine if this is the case. But if the shocks are slightly separate from this unit, I will be Quite interested in it.
