rice thief sorry to offend. i've never owned tein and i only made that comment as a warning from a guy who has only been doing suspension for twenty years. very mis informed guy.
redzone sorry to offend you with the price... as i said the price hasnt been decided and heap of time will obviously be saved on another set as spring rates wont have to be experimented with etc etc.
group A im totally in agreement, why not spend an extra 40 cents and get something worth its salt. Once again sorry to jack this subject.
Others: By all means adapt and tool around with the cheapest possible combo but keep in mind there will be a far higher quality alternative available.

FS: Ford 302ci Windsor. Race prepped block, Clevite bearings, ARP fixings, Hypertectic pistons, nitrided rods, knife edged crank, Gilmer drive, chrome moly rings, Yella Terra stage 3 heads, manly valves, Comp cams 294* solid roller, YT roller rockers, Funnelweb manifold, 2 inch spacer, Proform 830cfm carb, K&N 10" stack, ICE ignition. - 0437900210
if the teins are $2400 a set... how is approximately another grand too dear for race spec, total adjustment, professionally custom built with the best quality parts and 100% ready to bolt in...???
not to mention the fact that cheaper products are either non rebuildable or require rebuilding far more often which people may or may not be aware of... and if its a racing application the performance and reliability factor for the extra money should be a no brainer.

I'd reserve judgement with everything your guy mentions given he has a vested interest in selling you suspension, namely his own. As i've said tein have been doing suspension for two decades both nationally in japan as well as internationally. As redzone said they would have to be something special for the price given that the dms suspension is only a little bit more. As you said why not spend that little bit extra and get something worth its salt.Mick wrote:rice thief sorry to offend. i've never owned tein and i only made that comment as a warning from a guy who has only been doing suspension for twenty years. very mis informed guy.

Im just giving one side of the opinion and you're giving the other, at least that way people can make an informed decsion.

Calm down people, differences of opinion are good but not fighting about it.
Otherwise, I'll have to put up silly photos of people "not getting along" again like I did in this post: http://forums.austarion.com/viewtopic.php?t=9260
