I'd be fine with either of these options if the price isn't ridiculous (say under a grand). the age old question comes up though ja or jb bonnet? (i'm fine with either btw a vented jb would be nice too).

Hey guys couldn't help noticing there was interest in cf bonnets from the ebay guys mentioned here http://forums.austarion.com/viewtopic.p ... 63&start=0 price is good however shipping looks like it's gonna be scary unless we order it together, i've got no idea who to approach on shipping for these items (groupA ralliart, have you got anything coming over that would allow a few cf bonnets to hitch a ride if they pay their way?) however these bonnets would be as good a starting point as any in the search for a cf bonnet. Just tossing the idea into the air

I have airfreight and containers leaving the USA every few weeks.

We pay $4.50 a kilo air with UPS, I'd be happy to help out.

Those cf bonnets look like the vents don't actually have any 'venting holes' ?? i.e. they look like it's completely blocked off... ? :wtf:

Carbon fibre bonnet

Post by 88 MPH »

Has anyone ordered the carbon fibre bonnet from the US yet? Dit it turn out alright? Were the vents vented?

Is there still a group purchase concept open?

ok, here's a question for you guys. How much weight do you think would be saved and how much difference do you think that would make ?
For example. I weigh 67kg and some of you would weigh more and some less. People get hung up on weight saving and forget about the driver.
Its simple, save yourself the money, lose 10kg and you will be back to square one ? I imagine a fibreglass bonnet wouldnt weigh much less anyhow, and God knows how much a carbon fibre bonnet would cost. Im not trying to be a smart arse, just suggesting you look at all the alternatives before spending $$$$ on a CF bonnet.

Most people go for C/F because of the look these days, i tend to find. Besides at the end of the day when you lose 10kg's AND have a C/F bonnet, it's that much less weight :D

In any case, the last post on this thread was three weeks old(And the post directly before that almost 2 years old) - so there isn't much point bringing it back to life unless you're interested in a C/F bonnet. I think most people would agree with you that it's not worth the cash, hence this thread being dead.

Friends call me Ashgan or Ash... But you can call me failchanic. If there's a routine maintenance job that exists on a starion, then chances are i've failed at it.

First attempt fails include:
-Changing indicator light
-Changing spark plugs
-Changing belts
-Changing airfilter
-Changing oil
-Removing rear strut
-Replacing front strut
