Fuel Pump?
Does the starion have a in-tank pump or outside?
Thanks

If got a bet going on with my boss,
We have a track day this friday and i got myself a JB starion last friday.
The thing is to get the car going until then and get past my bosses Honda.
Done:
-Seat
-Steering wheel
-wheels & Tyres (from a widebody)
-Brake pads
to do:
-Get the head back on
-brake fluid
-mount the gt28RS
-exhaust n downpipe
-water alcohol injection..
-fuel pump and pressure reg.
i know it's quite some work, and i'm not sure if i will make it.. but i'll give it a try and
do some late nighters in the garage ;-)
Cheers

Not really a pain to get to, and you don't need to drop the tank. 20 minutes will do the trick and without cutting up the boot floor.skip wrote:Pain in the arse to get to, expensive to get, and if not done properly they leak so the whole tank needs to be dropped to get it fixed again.
Starion nutter since 1988...
1983 JA, 1984 JA, 1985 JB (all rego'd, all running :D )

Let your bosses tyres down without him knowing, guaranteed you'll beat him then, even in a shopping trolley. *looking around* Did I just say that?boosted wrote:If got a bet going on with my boss,

Where exactly is the fuel pump mounted in a Starion? Between the boot floor and the fuel tank? I wonder if it's in the same place in my Eterna, and if my Eterna has an external pump like the Starion (I'm guessing so, it has Starion everything else).
What aftermarket options are there for fuel pumps for the Starion? Can you use a Bosch VL Turbo commodore pump?
Cheers guys (rather n00b at Starion fuel system, too used to newer Mitsis)

In the left hand side of the starion boot floor, there is an inspection plate, its under that.
Powerplant: Chipped stock ECU, 2044cc, 8.5:1, head intake enlarged and polished, exhaust manifold enlarged,
Balance-shafts eliminated, Intercooled, TC06 @ 10psi, 2.5" high flow exhaust system and dump pipe.

Sweet I recall there being an inspection plate in the boot of my floor too around that area. Awesome. My tank is only about 45L though (well thats all I can fit into it) which is far off the supposedly 75L tank of the Starion, so I'm not sure how that will affect anything.
What about aftermarket fuel pump options? Does anyone know the limitations of the standard Starion pump? At what hp roughly do you need to start looking for another pump?
