Redzone's widebody GSR-VR

Post by redzone »

hey guys here are a few pics of my widey (ex NXTIME), looks pretty clean, she needs some paint though. at the moment its like a blank canvas, i have what it will look like in my mind already, gonna take me a year or 2 to make it a reality though! (i have expensive tastes!) just enjoying it as it is for now, until the gem is finished anyway. gotta learn to work on one project at a time....

these pics are taken down mooloolaba spit, on a recent sunday arv... enjoy! :beer

ok.... heres my plans as they sit at the moment. may change in time of course!

VE SS purple pearl (may be controversial but its pretty close to my dads old racing colour - love it IMHO)
Volk racing GT-C 18X8.5 and 18X10's gold centres
my big brakes from my JB will be going on of course
coil overs (proper damper adjustable etc)
steering rack conversion (looking at that sooner rather than later, have a few ideas)
DOHC 4G63 from starion block, VR-4 head, venolia forgies, eagle rods, GT3076R, metal head gasket (have all these parts already)
B26 bellhousing/RX7 gearbox conversion (this car is auto presently)
cleared/chromed conquest taillights like kit's + chromed number plate surround

thats about it. as i said, expensive tastes!
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

Car looks very clean and straight.
Did you get it out of Japan?
Very nice ride, will look even better
when you get thru with your mods, Enjoy! :beer

Does your car have the 2.0, or the 2.6 ??

(I see the factory screwed up and put the steering
wheel on the wrong side on another widebody) :D

silas - awesome, u obviously have a wife that UNDERSTANDS what men want lol! i'm getting face 1 for front to clear my big brakes, and face 2 for extra dish at the rear.... @ nearly 1K per rim i hope ur getting her a big chunky diamond eh?!

land rocket - this car came out of japan in the latter half of last year, theres a thread in buy/sell forum about it. any cars we get from japan have to be pre 89 or the compliance gets really expensive (and unavailable for some cars).yes she's pretty straight, the paint has been polished to death unfortunately, has gone through in a few places. it has the 2.6 currently, i'm not the biggest fan of those engines though. hence the 4G63 swap.. and judging by the amount of starquestclub members that want RHD, i think u guys have the steering on the wrong side!

Never thought about VE SS purple on a Starion before..
Thinking about it though i think it would look awesome.

With the volk wheels on your car will never be closer then 3 ft to a gutter.

Dave, your plans sound great - colour and engine choice are perfect. It will be an even more unique car than it already is.

Good luck with it. :beer

Dave just wondering, the indicators on the side panels, are they stock or did they put them on when our cars got imported?
