Take the top plastic cover off from over the cam. Check the belt and make sure it's still tight. Turn the engine over and look for the cam moving. Also check teeth for being mangled. I doubt this is your problem though.
Yeh it had the cam belt replaced when i got the new motor as the last one seized and shredded the old one. The tensioner was alright, same with the cam pulley alignment and all the pulleys spun freely. Not sure if the cam was bolted on too tight.
Yeh when i went back to it, the belt was still tight and of what i could see of the belt it seemed fine
Ill get my mate to tow it to my house after he finishes work tonight, and ill have a look at it tomorrow and report back
The thing is that everything was fine, ran out of petrol, put petrol in, car was almost starting, as it was turning over and almost running, but as soon as we went to push start it when i dropped the clutch the wheels locked up for half a second then it just rolled freely and thats when i think the cam belt destroyed

That doesn't sound like a belt problem. If it's rolling freely while you're in gear and the clutch is engaged, it's likely to be one of:
(a) very low compression
(b) something broken in the drivetrain - clutch, gearbox, etc

Right on the money Scorp16, yeh the belt stripped up like crazy... I cant believe it, 3rd belt ive been through in under a year...
Flav came down and saved my ass and fitted the belt in about 5mins flat... pro.
Hopefully this one will live longer, its a brand new one from Bursens
my old sohc spun a cam bearing which also momentarily stopped the cam from spining chewing a few teeth clean off ... we whacked on a new timing belt and it went for another 1700k's before taking it off the road.. for the complete overhall

Can you see the crank pulley spinning?
