hey guys
have decided that its worth pulling all my cambelt stuff off(which i just got someone to do) to fit a rwd 4g63 water pump on my vr4 motor, to make routing the front water pipe easier
now i know there is some slight modding required to fit this pump
was just wondering if someone could point me to the specifics etc, dont want to wreck a brand new water pump by grinding too much or something
dont wana have to redo it finding there was a better way to do it, allready done that once or twice :x
now what i understand you need to grind part of it to fit the cambelt tensioners etc in?
what alternator bracket do i need to run to ensure that i can get a hose to clear the top of it easily i assume a starion/sigma one will work?or do i need custom
what else needs modifying??
will any rwd 4g63 pump do or do i need a specific one?
l200,sigma or starion? have heard that the starion one is 154mm longer requiring a custom pulley to be made
cheers guys

hey i did my water pump on my last engine about two years ago so im not 100% sure on how much i took off it to clear the timing belt. When i fitted it i just kept refiting the timing belt and marking where it hit then pulling it off and grinding it down it took about 4 times before it cleared i took a little extra off too allowing the belt for flexing too. it s really easy to do.
i ran a rvr alternator with a starion bracket so i could run the multi rib belt. the radiator hose cleared fine.
i hope that helps
